Over the past several years I have been studying and researching health and wellness, in particular for those of us around middle age looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle into and throughout our retirement years.

Previous to this I was a Financial Planner for 25 years running my own business. 
The area of my specialty was Retirement planning.

Our financial planning model was called Lifestyle Financial Planning where we focused on setting strategies for our clients to be in a financial position to meet their stated lifestyle needs in retirement.
What struck me however with many of my retiree clients was that whilst they had a lot of wealth money wise, they did not have the required health and vitality to enjoy their wealth to the fullest.

Why do I do what i do?

Faced with a serious health issue myself just prior to turning age 50, which I am sure was due to stress and lifestyle issues, I re-evaluated what was most important to me in life and took steps to make some changes, including the required study and research to become a Health and Wellness Coach.

Whilst I had a great career in Financial Planning and in particular the relationships I had built with my clients, I knew that it was time for me to have a change in career and focus on what was now inspiring me.

This seemed a good fit to change from being a Financial Coach to a Health Coach.

Instead of working with clients to articulate where they wanted to be financially in their retirement and putting in strategies to achieve that, we are now looking at the question of how do you want to see your life from a health and wellness position both now and in your retirement years and set about the strategies required to achieve this.

I particularly specialise in men’s health and wellbeing for those in their 40’s, 50’s and beyond. It made sense to me to specialise in an area that is relative to myself where I could empathise and appreciate the challenges of those in my age and gender demographic rather than trying to be all things to all people.

What can I help you achieve?

I have put into place the learning’s I have had from my own health issues and am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences to help others achieve their health goals. With regard to exercise, my focus is on functional fitness, ie. exercise in a manner so as to be able to continue to function well and enjoy our lifestyle well into our elder years.

To be able to travel, garden, continue to play sport, even to be able to bend over to do your shoe laces up without difficulty, or to be able to run around and play with your grandchildren in our elder years. I am sure we all want to live as long as possible, however most importantly is to have and maintain a quality of life as we age.

Through my personalised programs, I help men achieve an optimal quality of life with vitality, energy and purpose. A key tenet to my approach is to Live Well to Age Well, meaning the decisions we make today will have a huge effect on our quality of life in the future.
