It is crucial to think of the body as a massively connected system where we need to balance optimal nutrition, movement, recovery and stress management to provide us the best outcome for our overall health and wellbeing.
Overarching all of this is our overall happiness, contentment and fulfilment that we feel within ourselves, and the achievement of our life goals.
What do you want to experience and achieve in your life?
To do that we need to reflect on what these are for us. Consider our values and what is most important to us, what gives us meaning. What do we want to experience and achieve in our lives? What experiences and adventures do we want to have? Who do we want to have strong connections with?
What legacy do we want to leave? After all what’s it all about? Big questions I know, but isn’t it worth taking the time to ruminate on?
So we start with qualifying our dream/purpose and work toward it. This makes our decision making process so much easier. When faced with a decision, we can ask ourselves, “Is this going to take me closer or further away from my values and goals?”
By defining your ideal life for this next phase, and taking actions that move you closer to it, you will actually begin to create it.
For many of us men at this stage of our lives it can be a significant period of reflection and transition as we move into the next stage of our life. Depending how you look at it, you may call it a crisis or opportunity. Let’s choose the latter. This is an opportunity to plan and set goals for how you want to live the rest of your life.
